What is a pet scam?

The pet scammer operates by enticing unsuspecting victims with adorable pet photos and compelling narratives. However, they cunningly avoid any video calls to showcase the pet, using various excuses. In reality, these scammers are fraudulent breeders who do not possess any pets for sale. To enhance the illusion of legitimacy, they often collaborate with accomplices who create fictitious logistics websites, masquerading as shipping companies responsible for delivering the pets.

This collaboration aims to instill a false sense of security in potential victims. Subsequently, the victim is requested to make payments for the pet’s shipping and handling. Once the payment is made, the scammer vanishes into thin air, leaving the victim without the promised pet, and their money gone.
